Wind Turbine Operations Supervisor (Part-time, 3 to 5 hours/week)


Job Summary
The wind turbine operations supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of 6 x 250kW wind turbines owned by the Drumlin Wind Energy Co-op, located in Northern Ireland on a part-time basis 3 - 5 hours per week. The job is primarily reporting on the turbine reliability and supervising the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contractor. Occasional visits to the wind turbines are required, e.g. health and safety audits, grid resets.

Responsibilities and duties
Creating extensive monthly reports, liaising with O&M contractor to determine causes of faults
Weekly short reports
Power curve assessments
Management of power purchase agreements
Visual inspection of wind turbines twice per year, health and safety audit and grid resets
Reporting to Andrew McMurray (Director)

Qualifications and skills
Understanding of wind turbine operation
Mechanical and electrical experience
Excellent Excel proficiency (reporting is using Excel, charts and large tables with interconnected formulae)
Driving license and car availability at short notice
Degree in mechanical or electrical discipline, or previous experience in these sectors
Self-starter, reliable and trust worthy
May suit a retired engineer, post-graduate student or someone part-employed in an analytical field.

Employment Conditions
The candidate will be employed as a consultant by NRG Solutions Ltd, at a rate of £20 to £30 per hour (depending on experience) + expenses. It is expected that the job will average 3 – 5 hours per week at flexible times. Occasional visits to wind turbines required, sometimes at short notice.
